Bournemouth North were delighted to welcome BBC South Today presenter Ed Sault to the clubs Guest Evening on Tuesday 16th May.
Ed gave a very interesting presentation covering his career from his early days with BBC Channel Islands based in Jersey through to his roll now as one of the main presenters of the daily news and current affairs programme, which is aired 3 times a day.
The programme which is aimed mainly at local news and events also covers how national and international events affect the lives of people in the south. Covering a vast area between Dorset and Sussex, from Hampshire up to Oxfordshire, the coverage includes a huge variety of towns, cities, and countryside and all that goes with it.
Ed spoke about how he and his colleagues sometimes have to handle breaking news that can happen at any time of the day or night, including mid-programme. Leading from the front can be a challenging task.
After his presentation Ed was happy to take questions from the members and their guests and there were certainly quite a few.
Ed Sault from BBC South Today is welcomed as Guest Speaker by Club President Peter Avis
