The Annual Rotary District 1110 Boule Competition 2017 took place at Lymington on Sunday 17th September where the defending champions BNRC faced some very stiff opposition from clubs from across Hampshire and Dorset. Forty five teams initially entered the competition in March and played games throughout the spring and summer to establish winners in each of the 8 Rotary groups. BNRC won their group games and prepared to defend their title having won this tournament for the past 8 years.

On finals day as well as BNRC there were teams from Andover, Sturminster Newton, Basingstoke Loddon, Hedge End, Southsea Castle and Christchurch. Unfortunately the Isle of Weight Group were unable to enter a team this year so making 7 in all.
In the quarter finals BNRC faced a very strong team from Andover who played so well that it looked as if the holders might be put out in their first round losing both of the opening triples. However, the resilience and determination of the team saw them through to the semi final by winning all three of the pairs resulting in a narrow 3-2 victory.
In the semi-final they faced Stuminster Newton who again put up a brilliant fight but once more BNRC managed to get through by 3 games to 2.
