New Year’s Eve 2019 saw President Graham Green present a cheque for £1,000 to the Bournemouth Hospital Charity. Accompanied by Rotarians Sue Slade, Anne Green and John Spurgeon Graham presented the cheque to Karen Smith of BHC in the Dementia Garden at the hospital.
The money was raised at the recent Elton John Tribute Night held at the Village Hotel, Bournemouth and will go towards improving the decor of the day rooms/areas in wards specialising in care for patients suffering from dementia and associated problems.

A second cheque for £500 was presented to the Dorset Children’s Foundation to support an amazing little boy called Harri who is suffering with Cerebral Palsy (CP) to pay for a specialised stroller which will make a big difference to both him and his family in their everyday lives.
The cheque was presented to Louise Hands-Heathfield of DCF in their Southbourne Charity Shop by Rotarians Stan Webb and John Spurgeon and was money raised at the recent Golf in the Dark Tournament held at Queen’s Park Golf Club in November.
