All Change as President John Steps into the Hot Seat


In July of each year Rotary Clubs around the world see the handing over of the Chain of Office from the outgoing President to the Incoming one and this year was no exception.

Outgoing President Richard Taylor hands over to John Spurgeon for 2017-18

At the Bournemouth North Handover Meeting on July 11th Richard Taylor Chaired his last meeting and handed over the reins to John Spurgeon. Richard having completed his second term of office for the club has had a busy and eventful year and congratulated John on his appointment.

John has been a member of the club since October 2008 and has been very much involved with Club Service Committee and Fundraising for the clubs charity fund together with serving on Club Council for the past 7 years. John thanked Richard for his many years of service to the Club and hope that he would continue with the many other roles that he has fulfilled in the club over the years.

Also taking office at the handover meeting was new Senior Vice President Gabriel Shead, a member of the club for many years, together with Junior Vice President Graham Green, who are both looking forward to a busy year ahead
